From Rotoworld-Mike O'Hara of the Detroit News says the Lions may part ways with two-time Pro Bowl DT Shaun Rogers and DE Kalimba Edwards after this season.

The out-of-shape Rogers had only one unassisted tackle in Week 14 and has zero sacks in his last five games, while Edwards was a healthy a scratch against the Cowboys. Both have time on their contracts, but might need a strong close to avoid being salary cap casualties. The Lions face LT and the Chargers in Week 15.

Rogers maybe "Out of Shape" but that can be fixed. This is a guy who single handedly stopped the run against us in week one on some plays

Good player and I'd look at him but I don't know about edwards

Hmm I have an Idea, our 1st and 2rounders for.

Roy Williams and Shaun Rogers brillaint fills up our needs of a dt and a great number wideout.

I'd trade Fabian and Sands for Shaun Rogers alone and they prabably will fall for it. lol

Why give up a draft pick when they are going to cut him?

There not going to cut Roy Williams are you crazy? And they deff want to get something for Rogers becuase he will be great trade bait for alot of teams struggling agaisnt the run (Denver, Dolphins, Browns)

Unless McCown re-signs in the offseason for backup pay and play time then we got duped by Millen. A 4th on a team that lacks depth damn near everywhere for an injury laden QB who is spotty in play at best and they even threw in a WR who can't catch. I like Josh as a person and competitor but not as a starting QB.

What a deal!

I get the Roy Williams part, but the thread is the Lions are going to "part ways" with Rogers I take that as meaning they will release him and the article talks about them being cap casualties. My question was why would we trade for Rogers when he may get cut and we could get him for nothing. As for Roy Williams he is good and I'd trade a 2nd for him but if you meant a 1st and 2nd for him you are the "crazy" one.

Looks like the Lions are having rumors of a fire sale.

I would like to get Rogers. If he loses some weight and re-dedicates himself he is a very good player.

Put him on the list with Roy Williams and Kevin Jones. I wouldn't mind getting all 3....well really just Williams and Rogers but I just get this feeling they would make us take Jones too if we got either of them.

Jones isn't a bad player or anything(not great either just ok) there are just certain circumstances about him.

No I am saying the lions arent dumb enough to let Rogers go for nothing they will trade him or keep him but they wouldnt just straight up and cut the guy. So lets put our bid out 1st that way we'd have first dibs on the two of them. PROVEN PLAYERS>> Draft able players.
