I hope we are able to move McCown or Andrew. We have so much value there and so many teams desperate for a QB. I would rather deal McCown since he will likely leave next year anyway. Draft picks are fine, but would rather a good DT if one were available.

We were in a tough position with Sands being up for his contract and only limited evidence he was ready to be a player at DT. (Much like the timing on the Porter contract..) My concern at the time we signed him was that i thought we should have got it done for quite a bit less that what it did, or let him go.

Apparently, it was about the money for him.

Thanks for the read. I am not sure who said "If we pay Terdell Sands a bunch of money he will get better". He was a average DT to begin with and has not progressed any.

Sands has/had enormous promise at a very valuable position in the NFL, there is a good reason he got that payday. Last year our highest paid player wasn't LT, Gates or Rivers, it was Jamaal Williams and for a very good reason.

Sands could be there too, except that he just hasn't lived up to his potential yet and at this point it is hard to say he will.

sands isnt doing anything for us except taking up payroll and a roster space. imo he got his payday and that was fine for him.
