raiders trying to trade (per Pft, Jay Glazer?

Quote:
RAIDERS WILLING TO MOVE GUYS ON, MOVE GUYS OUT

Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the Oakland Raiders have been calling teams and offering up any of their defensive players for trade -- with only four of them off of the block.

The guys who won't be traded included defensive end Derrick Burgess, cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, linebacker Kirk Morrison, and linebacker Thomas Howard.

Curiously omitted from this list is safety Michael Huff, the No. 7 overall pick in 2006.

On the other side of the ball, Chris Mortensen of ESPN says that rookie quarterback JaMarcus Russell could take the field by Thanksgiving weekend, and that he is progressing well in practice.

After what we did in Miami I can't see us making a lot of trades. The 4 exceptions listed could all go to the pro bowl this year. I am extremely pleased with where we are at right now. I think we will have a very special game against Denver at home. San Diego is very beatable this year. Kasas City games should be wins for us also. To me it looks as if our division could be won by an 8-8 record and if Culpepper stays healthy 8-8 is certainly doable. I know that this may seem absurd but I feel that we could have Gallery as a probowler this year as well. Perhaps it is a stretch but if Janokowski continues to lead the league in kickoff touchbacks he could be a probowl contender as well. Shame about Jordan. But even if we don't win another game this year I still say WIN LOSE OR TIE RAIDERS TILL I DIE

To paraphrase the coach I believe that Culpepper gives us the best chance to win this year. See no reason not to play him until the wheels come off. We will never be able to sign him for next year because he will be starting after signing a lucrative contract. Let the kid sit on the bench this year. That worked pretty good for Ken Stabler. I would keep Walter in case Culpepper gets hurt.

Yeah we beat Miami...who are now 0-4. Not exactly a powerhouse this year are they?

I'm glad we have won a couple of games but anyone that thinks our defense is playing as well as it did last year is delusional. It surprises me a bit that Sapp and Warren aren't on the list of untouchables but it's obvious that improvements need to be made. Better to make them now in a year that everyone accepts as a rebuilding year.
