I also think Kiffin should bench or cut Mccown...but he is coach of MY team and he did do some things right sunday. The wide open Porter touchdown was because of a double move on the defender that game film showed would be effective. The onside kick was perfectly planned and executed. The decision to keep Gerald Warren and J Richardson rather than Quinten Moses looked smart, with Warrens safety and Richardsons tip to set up scoring interception. Even though we had injury problems on our defensive line...losing Sands and Burgess for a good share of the game..we gave Denver a solid game to lose in overtime with the questionable timeout.
This is a building year after the 2-14 embarassment but I am optimistic. Our
defensive line will certainly get better when we get Burgess and Sands back and Warren gets in shape. Our linebackers are very young and one of the best groups in the NFL and will be improving. Our offensive line is playing quite well considering the fact that they have 4 players at 4 positions and have never played as a unit until 2 games ago. and of course once Newberry returns will be better still. They gave Mccown time and made huge holes for Lamont Jorden. When we get Bush off the PUP list and Rhodes playing I believe we can let Fargas go and will have a really solid deep RB core. As a lifetime Raider fan I remember watching Blanda and I hope that some of the Raider nation keeps their cool and quits booing our players and trashing our coachs. Coach has done a tremendous job to take us this far in preparing a disasterous team of 2-14 to play Denver to a draw IN DENVER in only two weeks. Please watch your tougue or I will be forced to mess you up
