Playing Russell in Nov

Before the horrible loss to Denver, I was talking to a guy at Hooters that worked in construction. He says he lives in the bay area and actually got close to the Raider organization. He built houses for a few of the Raiders (even went into saying how the bathrooms were made in all silver/black). He just got back from Oakland and said that they were telling him Russell will start in Nov as long as he has the playbook down.

Just a rumor

Thanks for the rumor. We'll see if JaMarcus Russell can perform well in the next level, especially since he missed the entire Training Camp due to the long holdout.

I would like to see it. It seems like our play calling and line is at a high enough level that it can protect him. I hope he gets a chance this year.

I'd rather see JR start right now if kiffin's going to be a stubborn little bitch and not bench mccown.

i wouldn't mind that either except he's not ready. he'll need a few months of playing on the scout team and sitting on the sidelines to absorb enough knowledge to where he can give it a decent shot.

I also think Kiffin should bench or cut Mccown...but he is coach of MY team and he did do some things right sunday. The wide open Porter touchdown was because of a double move on the defender that game film showed would be effective. The onside kick was perfectly planned and executed. The decision to keep Gerald Warren and J Richardson rather than Quinten Moses looked smart, with Warrens safety and Richardsons tip to set up scoring interception. Even though we had injury problems on our defensive line...losing Sands and Burgess for a good share of the game..we gave Denver a solid game to lose in overtime with the questionable timeout.
This is a building year after the 2-14 embarassment but I am optimistic. Our
defensive line will certainly get better when we get Burgess and Sands back and Warren gets in shape. Our linebackers are very young and one of the best groups in the NFL and will be improving. Our offensive line is playing quite well considering the fact that they have 4 players at 4 positions and have never played as a unit until 2 games ago. and of course once Newberry returns will be better still. They gave Mccown time and made huge holes for Lamont Jorden. When we get Bush off the PUP list and Rhodes playing I believe we can let Fargas go and will have a really solid deep RB core. As a lifetime Raider fan I remember watching Blanda and I hope that some of the Raider nation keeps their cool and quits booing our players and trashing our coachs. Coach has done a tremendous job to take us this far in preparing a disasterous team of 2-14 to play Denver to a draw IN DENVER in only two weeks. Please watch your tougue or I will be forced to mess you up

It would be really good & something if both JaMarcus Russell and Michael Bush got some solid, live NFL reps this season. I hope at some point it happens this season.
