■ NASCAR CEO Brian France has long been talked about as a potential owner of a National Football League franchise in Los Angeles, and now comes more speculation, from NFL sources, that France might be interested in buying the Oakland Raiders and moving the franchise to Los Angeles.

France has danced around the NFL issue over the years, but his fondness for Los Angeles is well known, and he has a home there. Two years ago NBA star Magic Johnson said he had talked with France about the NFL and indicated France was indeed interested. If the NFL deal cost $800 million, France has it.

He is going to buy the Raiders and move them to LA. Oh OK.
1. Al Davis owns the Raiders and they are not for sale. There may be a piece he could purchase but it is a non voting partner with no power to do anything with the team.
2. The Raiders are under contract with the McAfee Collisieum until 2011.
Can we start the season already please.??????????

The Raiders fan base exploded after the first move to LA. This would actually be great for the team and it will be right around the time when we're contending again*hopefully.

I think you are only looking at this from one side. The fan base might have seemed to explode from SoCal Raiders fans point of view but don't get it twisted, there were ALOT of pissed off Bay Area Raider fans who said 'screw the Raiders' when they left. Right or wrong, I have had many many people over the years tell me they stopped being a fan of the Raiders when they went to LA.

Very much correct. This stadium in Oakland was sold out every game and you could not get a ticket most times due to season ticket holders selling it out. The move to LA really soured some Bay Area Fans and corporations from supporting the team anymore since they had helped them for many years.
