I like the idea of Darius at SS and Huff at FS. I think that means Stu is backup FS and Bing and or Frampton as backup SS which leaves Cooper out in the cold.

Would be a solid pickup for this defense. The guy would bring some attitude to an already very good defensive unit. If we can swing it get it done.

Pretty much sounds like this guy is just speculating based on Schefter's report.. It would be a great move, no doubt but I ain't getting my hopes up just yet... And I'd hate to see Coop or Bing go buh bye, but Darius is a definite upgrade... We'll see what happens..

I can only ask why Chico?

Huff is locked in. If we were to pick up Darius, he'd obviously be a lock. Stu is the next best safety we have and he's worked at both spots.

Then you have:

Bing, converted to LB and now back to safety. As a rookie had a neck stinger that put him out for the year. Effectively a rookie. Frampton? As much as I like what I've read, what is there out there that says he should make the team, production? Not. He was a low draft pick who could produce on special teams for now. Cooper already has produced on the field both on defense and special teams.

Why do people want to dog Coop so bad? He's nothing but all effort, hard work and a bad ass presence on the field. Maybe he's not a starting safety but he can and will do anything and everything Bing or Frampton can only hope to do.

I guess I simply disagree. With the signing of Darius (if it were to happen) I think that leaves Bing AND Frampton out in the cold....

keep cooper, convert bing back to LB and hope he can replace sam williams

Cooper is all effort and the heart (should be capt.) of the special teams. Frampton is a low draft pick who has to try to make the deep roster of safteys. We have signed a ton of players in the secondary, and haven't addressed LBs. I think Bing would be better suited at OLB, heck if need be cooper could probably play in that spot as well. Darius would be a good addition and he would bring a deffinate hitting presence to the secondary.
