    Talking Lance Briggs To Oakland.?

Lance Briggs in Oakland would absolutley be sick.! Just wondering if you guys think we could get him at a halfway decent price to add'em to the linebacking corps...Briggs, Morrison, Howard...we could use some veteran leadership in that area...right.?

Briggs would look great in Silver N Black..

I don't necessarily agree. Briggs looks great lined up beside Brian Urlacher, but ANYONE will play better in that situation. I don't see him as a dominant game changer by himself and certainly not worth what he wants as a payday. I like our linebacking youth. I would prefer a run stuffing DT and an every down DE to pair with Burgess

Don't need him. If our defense sucked, then yes, but we don't need him. Use the space to lock up Burgess and Asomugha and draft picks.

    Worth repeating.

Keep our own young talented players happy first. Those are the things players see down the road and appreciate how the organization goes about business and are more likley to want to be here and to negotiate their own contracts in good faith.

Your correct their has been any number of players that benefited from playing along side potential HOF players and in a system that allowed them the opportunity to blossom. Then they wanted the money. Left that team went to another team got their money but were never the same player and in some cases out of the league in a few years.

We don't need any more LB's we have the makings of some really good ones here already, We still need to reward those players that have stepped up while in Silver and Black players like Burgess and Aso, before throwing large chunks of money to someone else who has not contributed in our organization.

We still have not signed any of our draft picks including the #1 pick in the draft.

Postings like this keep me thinking about our government. Spend, Spend and spend without thinking of where the money is coming from, how much they have or how to best use it. Just spend it.

I'm also a person that believes that if one signs a contract - fulfill the terms of that contract, when the time comes then renegotiate a new contract.

Which means if one dos not play to previous years level than the contract should be smaller not larger. example would be what Mark McGwire of the Oakland A's did back in the 80's. By his standards had a bad year, preceding his contract talks with the A's. He represented himself and took a pay cut. His explanation was that he did not preform to the same level and did not deserve a pay raise.

That I respect and that will never happen in the sports world again.
