McShay: Source Confirms Russell to Oakland
I was just listening to Mike & Mike...

McShay said he has a very good friend in the Raiders organization that said the Raiders will pick JaMarcus Russell with the #1 pick...

He said if he was wrong that he would cut off all ties with his friend/source that's currently in the organization...

He said that they will wait until tomorrow hoping for a blockbuster trade offer which won't happen then select Russell when there time is up...

He also went on to say that Mike Martz has been more involved in this draft then any other coordinator in the history of the draft...

He said that Martz loves JaMarcus Russell and the Lions would take him if CJ is gone...

He said Cleveland would try to trade up but he said Russell is very high on our board and we would keep Russell if McShay's friend is wrong about Russell going to Oakland or their is a blockbuster trade...

On this last day before the draft, I'm pretty much resigned to the fact we'll draft Russell in spite of my advice to pick Quinn. I guess Mr. Davis doesn't listen to me.

I'm cool with that though... if it's Russell, I'll be a Russell fan. At least Quinn couldn't hurt us as he would likely go to the Browns which means he'll be mired in a team that couldn't win if the rest of the league forfeited. Oh, wait - they beat us, didn't they? Well not this year, baby!
