It was an awkward question because it has been said that Al Davis is obsessed with his own mortality.

It was the summer of 1995. Bruce Allen had recently been hired to replace Steve Ortmayer, who left the Raiders to become the vice president of St. Louis Rams. Davis had always respected Bruce's father George, the Hall of Fame coach of the Washington Redskins. Davis had closely followed Bruce's career as an executive in the USFL, CFL and as an agent.
