Sapp pretty much is nailing it. The issue is we have to have quality coaching on the "O" and the timing right now just might not be good for Ryan. I'm guessing if Ryan gets the job Trestman is the O.C., that should still be better on the "O" side of things. I'm not thinking Sark is taking the OC job, even though that is really about all he most likely deserves at this time. But we have him aiming well higher then that now it seems.

IMO, I think Ryan would be an excellent HC. My only concern is, should the Raiders be messin' with a good thing? Being a HC in the NFL requires alot of your attention in ALL aspect's of the team. The added responsability could take away from what Ryan needs to be concentrating on..........the defense. Is there another coach on staff that can step in and help without missing a beat on the defensive side of the ball?

I love how most people in this thread seem to forget that this was his first good year in what is it 3 years of being our defensive coach.

The team was ranked 26th defense last year and our db coach just left for another job.

Lets wait and see how the team looks next season until then..

Hold back on those reigns abit

Ill take one gamble over two. RR is a sure thing as a DC. If we promote him we have an unknown at HC and DC.

As far as being unhappy yes, if he is unhappy give him a shot. If he is fine with being a DC keep him there.

I hope Ryan stays where is at. Im not saying he would not do a great job as a HC however right now the problem is having a well rounded team at Defense Offense and ST. Keeping him at DC and hoping for a #1 Defense in 07
