Interesting comment from any person that could be said to have the ear of Al Davis:

Quote:
"You can't second-guess,'' Otto said. "We have to put this year behind us and at the end of the month start all over. At that point we're all even and we'll look at what we're doing as an organization.''
At the end of the month start all over? I'm sure I'm reading too much into this, but to me that hints that Al Davis has decided to fire Shell. Afterall, otherwise I'd personally have said, "At the end of the month we'll have to go through the roster and address our weaknesses and decide how to bring in more players."

Quote:
Otto said there are a number of reasons for the Raiders' struggles, declining to go into specifics.
Are these the first hints of Art Shell being politely moved aside, or the reporter (more likely I know) trying to make a story where one does not exist.
