Whatever happened to as long as you play hard for me and you make my team better you can play for me. If two people(Grown Men) dislike eachother outside of the football field, that shouldn't hurt the team and what's going on Sunday. Grudges are not good and they only destroy what you are supposed to build.

Yea but that's someone who i doubt will ever be back in Oak Town, although it would be nice to hear the nation chant chucky again.

We will wait and see if the Top Dawg has had enough of Shell, whether he quits or gets fired i don't care i honestly have lost a lot of respect for him as a HC.

I'm sure the locker-room saw the hiring of Art Shell as a last-ditch whim of Al Davis. I'm sure that for many they felt deflated rather than elated at the prospect of being coached by a man that had been out of the game for six years. I really expected Art to address the team in a positive manner and get them onside. Instead he had an argument with a starting WR, then benched him. The situation was never resolved. Most of us have encountered similar situations. When you see the manager being unable to rectify a situation you begin to lose respect for him or her. It is always up to the more senior figure to bring about a conclusion to the situation. With Porter, Shell should have lobbied Al Davis to trade him immediately. He should have stood up to Al and stated it was either Porter or him. I'm sure Al would have had a go at him, but given the situation could well have agreed. Instead the position festered. Porter languished. Shell lost the respect of the locker-room. Think about it. Wouldn't it have been a real strong statement to the rest of the team. "Its my way or the highway." Art Shell has lost my respect and if he is HC next year I will approach the season with a feeling of dread. |

It will be interesting to see if Dougie plays, or if Shell benches him too because "He played for a different team!!! He's a traitor!!! Oh, that's right, we traded him...or uh...ya."

Ha, Whited is Shell's boy and you know he's going to get way more playing time than Gabs.

Art Shell has no point being on the sideline. He should be sitting with Al Davis explaining where we went wrong. Does he sent in guys or pull them out? Act like a General motivating the troops? Coordinate the battleplan? No. No and no. To my eyes Art stands on the sidelines looking confused and out-of-place, with the more than occassional glance at the clock. Why look at the clock Art, my boy, you never change the tempo of the game in any way? Wanting to get home? Wanting to get the next rim-job from good old Alvis, or will it be Aaron's turn? Hell, if Al Davis is happy with what he's seen this season then the old coot has finally gone senile. |

If Lombardi had his way, Bobby Petrino would have been our Head Coach and I'm certain we would not have been in this mess. I'm sure if Petrino had thought he was essentially dealing with Lombardi alone it would have happened. |
