Brooks 113-194 58.2% 1,515 yards passing, 170 rush 9TD's also 2 rushing 6INT's 1 fumbles lost 4-4 record. One of those wins was a playoff win over the defending superbowl champs the St. Lois Rams. During his first seven starts He became the first NFL quarterback to have a 400-yard passing effort and a 100-yard rushing game in the same season and only the sixth player to have both in a career. O yeah and Walter is: 104-216 48.1% 1,305 yards 3TD's 9INT's 7 fumbles lost 2-5 record in which the defence won the pittsburgh game by itself. You can say what ever you want about how Brooks was on a playoff team but don't be acting liek Walter is good. So far even on the plays he has had time to throw he hasnt shown much at all, If anything. |

If he were to have a 4000+, 20td, 10int this season, then we may have the best 1st year QB to ever play the game..right now he's the typical rookie(technically) QB..he's learning the system, he's learning the Defense, and we gotta stick with him...I hope this doesn't hurt his confidence..well, not like he can lose much more anyways....give him a few years and he'll hopefully turn into a very good QB...damn, I just wish Gannon would take some time away from the booth and sit on the sidelines with the Raiders as a coach..

Aaron Brooks starting tomorrow has taken what was left of me enjoying Raider games and thrown it away. We're out of the playoffs, but I still enjoyed watching Walter play to see if we need Brady Quinn, but I guess we have to suffer with "Smiles the Clown" Brooks. These are truly dark times.

This is a team that is looking for something better, If that means putting Walter on the bench for a while then so be it. "He is in his rookie as far as playing experience. The reason for the comparisons is that they are valid. Plenty of good, great, HOF QBs have been terrible their first season playing. No one is saying Walter will be as good as these guys, but only that if they looked that bad starting out it is completely possible that Walter will improve. You are missing the point altogether. QBs do not get ready on the bench. This only sets Walters development back." This is not his rookie year, yes it is his first year starting but that does not buy you the rookie free pass. If it did then everyone wouldn't have been calling for Tui's head after starting one half last year. Here are a few QB's and what they did their "ROOKIE" year as you would like to call it. Aaron Brooks 2000 New Orleans Saints 8 5 194 113 58.2 1514 7.80 53 9 6 15/94 20 4 85.7 mark brunell 1995 Jacksonville Jaguars 13 10 346 201 58.1 2168 6.27 45 15 7 39/238 23 1 82.6 Brad Johnson 1996 Minnesota Vikings 12 8 311 195 62.7 2258 7.26 82 17 10 15/119 27 7 89.4 Jake Delhomme 2003 Carolina Panthers 16 15 449 266 59.2 3219 7.17 67 19 16 23/168 46 9 80.6 Andrew Walter 2006 Oakland Raiders 9 7 216 104 48.1 1305 6.04 51 3 9 40/218 17 1 54.6 I can see how he is really making a case to be the QB of the future. Sarcasm But I hope he developes but right now I just think he should either spend more time on the bench or he might go down in history with the Ryan Leaf 1998 SDG 10 111 245 45.3 1289 5.3 2 67 15 39.0 Chris Weinke 2001 Carolina Panthers 15 15 540 293 54.3 2931 5.43 48 11 19 26/177 31 4 62.0 Gus Frerotte 1995 Washington Redskins 16 11 396 199 50.3 2751 6.95 73 13 13 23/192 41 9 70.2 of the world |

The last Quarterback the Raiders Drafted and developed succesfully was Kenny Stabler. Think about it. Marc Wilson. Todd Marinovich. Rusty Hilger. Their best quarterbacks have been free agents. Rich Gannon. Jim Plunkett. Jeff Hostetler.

Good summary. He also is not ramping up as fast as I'd hoped. He makes reads, but he's still rook slow at it. |
