That's good stuff '40. Always good to hear about Raiders gettin' recognition when it's due. Especially good about Ray Guy, it's about time.

Later.

Well, I guess this is an appropriate time to bring up my repeated question: What about Cliff Branch? The quintessential "deep threat", if you played Madden's or Flores' Raiders, your defense had too game-plan for Cliff Branch, that's how much of an impact player he was.

And it's not like Cliff just used burning speed to run under balls, he could adjust with the best of them, and he would fight for the catch with the best of them.

His receiving numbers are more than respectable, and equal to receivers from his era that are already in the HOF.

But usually, "winning" is a prerequisite for getting into the HOF. And Cliff Branch played on all three Raiders SB Championship teams, scoring 3 TDs in those games.

It's total BULLSH'T - in my humble opinion - that Cliff isn't in the HOF yet, and not even considered again this year.

An honor ... but could be a problem.

Hayes, Guy and Stabler are all contenders.... but Guy is a punter
HOL doesn't like punters.
Heyes and Stabler are Raiders.... and will that split the vote and get them both edged out?

Hope not !
GOOoooo RAIDERS !!!!

My little brother still has the Lester Hayes wrist wrap he tossed to me after a game in NY in 1985..... little brother put it in a zip lock bag and thumb-tacked it over his headboard!

yeah baby!

Welcome back, dude.

Hopefully these voters, this committee of sports geeks, beat writers and has-beens - mostly from the east coast, are finally giving Raiders greats their due.

Agreed 100%, how can he not even be in the debate?

The same goes for Christensen in my mind. That guy was money in the clutch, just ask Plunkett!
