A person close to Porter's situation says the team has been presented with several trade proposals, but has rejected every one. If you bitch you suffer\ if you play and cooperate you'll be fine and dealt with later no one cares if he rides the bench its a win win for us and a loss loss for him

Just wanted to update this thread....
Vikings | Team will wait before possibly adding a WR Fri, 18 Aug 2006 06:06:15 -0700 Don Seeholzer, of the Pioneer Press, reports Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress indicated the Vikings would get through Saturday's game, Aug. 19, before possibly adding a wide receiver to replace WR Koren Robinson, who has been granted time off from the team pending developments in his DWI case. "I'm not inclined at this point in time to get a body just to get a body," Childress said. "Because there are bodies out there. You want a guy that you think is a program fit and might understand something about what we're doing." The team may have to go the trade route to add a wide receiver. Denver reportedly is asking for a third-round draft choice and possibly a player for holdout WR Ashley Lelie, and Oakland has effectively taken WR Jerry Porter off the market with its asking price of at least a first-round draft choice.

I still believe that Al and Art would like to see Porter find his way a little. They have both articulated that he has something to offer the team if he would just get with the program and do it. Someone close to Porter needs to show him some tough lough and beat about the head and shoulder area with his belt buckle...

Bench his sorry ass till he wakes up !!!! god knows that wr is our deepest position without question ...If he changes his attitude,then and only then play him and then he will be worth more !! TILL THEN MAKE THE M-F-ER SUFFER !!
trade him or a running back !!! Doesn't he realize he JUST sianed a new deal !!! We COULD make him sit and DESTROY his carrer !!! If he wants out so badly why haven't we heard about him wanting to payback all that bonus money he got?Why hasn't he been willing to restructer his contract to make it easier to trade him !! After all he is getting first wr money ,for a a player who is only our #2 ,oh thats right he's been demoted to 2nd string!!!!! Al has been more then fair to this guy ,now it's time to return the favor !!While we are at it make him return punts "tell our punter to kick it high in practice and use him as a tackle dummy !! One good hit is all it would take ,let sapp and carr smack the attitude out of his sorry ass !!

well look, this doesn't really say anything at all, yet makes it seem like the Raiders are phucking something up. The Raiders are not going to trade him just for the sake of trading him. they won't give him away. This "source close to Porter's situation" didnt mention whether teams came to the Raiders with some BS offers - which is probably more closer to the truth.
The Raiders know what they are doing and it wouldnt surprise me at all if we came out of this with a 1st round pick.

The conditional pick comes in two year's time because by then the other team can judge his impact and if he re-signs somewhere else, it will have a compensation pick to cover for the trade, if he plays to a quality level.

I like that attitude by the team. Unless we get a premium offer, Porter is under contract and expected to play. Don't give in because he's unhappy.
