I have said before, everyone in the NFL has talent. Some moreso than others. And then you have those who are talented that work HARDER than everyone, and stay on the practice field hours AFTER the practice, and come hours BEFORE the practice. Michael Jordan didn't become who he was by coming to practice exactly when it started and leaving the gym when it ended.
Jordan had a good year but nothing spectacular. Better change his attitude.

I don't know. I am surprised because that was his first year as a starting, featured back and he wasn't even trying? wtf is that? He was too fat last year too. I can't believe these guys don't take their jobs more seriously.. seems like some of them get to this level, and just put it on cruise control.

The Norv Turner regime had a lot of questionable play calling and strategy. That being said, Jordan should have done his best to acquaint himself with the given offense. I am less than thrilled to here he is hitting the playbook studying up harder because he should have been doing that all along.

I'm going to brightside this one. Missing two games and having less than 20 carries for several games netting him some pretty decent stats for not understanding what was going on. Knowing and trying to understand this year with more carries and a re tooled o-line could mean much much more production.

I'm going to try to put this in terms of real life with my job.
I came out of college with a degree in Architecture. I started my job as a drafter. For those who don't know, a drafter is the starting point for an Architect. I was given markups of drawings and would fix them. I didn't have a clue what I was doing, but since I was so good at the computer program (AutoCAD) I did everything fast and accurate. After years staying as a drafter and not being promoted I finally realized that I needed to understand exactly what it was that I was drawing. For me that didn't come until I was 28 years old. Point being, I understand where Jordan is coming from. He is only 26 years old and I applaud him for taking the next step. People need to realize that athletes are humans too. I actually think Jordan is a lot more mature than I was at that age because the only things I thought about and did at 26 was getting drunk and laid. |

Lamont is great, but for him to do something like that really is sad. It's a shame. But there is a bright side, and knowing that he will be studying the schemes means that this year he'll be hitting the gaps much more efficiently. It actually did seem like he wasn't really exploding through the line the way we knew he could.

the bottom line is that a bunch of players had motivation problems last year. the onus lies on both the players and the coaches. but now shell has "shifted the tone" and i don't think lamont's problems will continue.
