1. i think Big Al will have no qualm about trading Porter, provided that what he gets in return accords w/ Porter's 'worth' (from Al's perspective).

2. Al has been very supportive of Shell. though we would 'usually' expect Big Al to favour players, not this time: consider the fiascos through Callahan & Turner era. by now, even a borderline fan would recognise we really need a HC who has the nutsacks to shake and shape up the team.

3. between the time of SBXXXVII and now, the team has gotten pretty young. meanwhile, someone like Porter is not a youngster anymore. furthermore, i think Porter has gotten too used to now ancient Brown & Rice Raiders -- he still had attitude problems, but vets like Tim & Jerry mitigated it. but that is not our reality as of today: Porter is the second oldest starting receiver, after Moss. (i know Whitted is the oldest, but he is not starting #1 or #2.) in other words, if he were to keep his place, he has to start behaving like a veteran and take charge. i have not seen him stepping up.

I think the thing that bothers me mostly is that last season he cried for a new contract.The Raiders gave him a new & fair valued one.Now Porter cries b/c the team seriouslt lacked control & discpline, which we're NOW getting, & he dislikes it.So, he wants out & looks like he's gonna have his wish granted eventually.Why not sit his ass on the bench & see what becomes vs so quick to deal him away.

I agree, partially.Keep the jersey.I have some jersyes still of players that retired or were let go/traded.I'm not giving them up.
