Gannon didn't deserve this Quick fall from grace overshadows contribution
by Rick Ratto

Rich Gannon is back in Minnesota 2 1/2 months before he wanted to return, recuperating from Thursday's surgery to repair his right shoulder, presumably so that he'll be back in time for the Raiders' first 2004 minicamp.

But it feels like a final goodbye. It may be too early to assess his career in Oakland, but that's not the way to bet. Truth is, his Raider days were by any rational standard a shining example of value given for value paid.

A Shining example of value given for value paid. Ah, ya talking to me? Gannon's career was IMO something that had to happen, and did. Kinda like finally being at the right place at the right time, thingy. Hey, if he gets back in shape he's Grudens.
