Scout: Raiders' Offseason Moves a 'D'

There are two ways to look at the Oakland Raiders’ offseason and the moves made by new GM Reggie McKenzie.

The first is to say it was awful. There were no high draft choice to re-stock the cupboard with fresh talent, and the salary cap situation was a mess, forcing the release of talented players while leaving very little money to pursue high-profile free agents.

Among the departed are running back Michael Bush, defensive end Kamerion Wimbley, tight end Kevin Boss and center Samson Satele.

So...its obvious that the article appears negative. But, the logic of measurement is in comparison to what all teams have done to improve during the offseason.

This is where and when the Raiders begin to step out of the shadow of Al Davis.

That old magic that the Raiders had is in the past and that is where we leave it...today's team seems poised to shine this year. Give us a better defense and the same offensive numbers from last year and we have a winning record.

I have no real issues with the article. We are going to have to prove ourselves to the league. What the person grading misses is that we got rid of under performing overpaid players and picked up players that the current staff feels can play within the system we are going to run. This is a work in progress but they act like we have no good players.
