I am not sure how much Mawae has in the tank but for vet minimum he would be worth a look for sure. He has not generated any interest. I know someone will say he made the Pro Bowl last season but that was mostly on reputation and prior accomplishments as are many selections. Still worth 850,000 for a look.

I feel very strongly about improving the Center position. I believe it is a major step in being a solid 9 win team. If we could sign Mawae, I'm positive he would be better than Satele. With Satele at Center, we are very lucky to win eight. I say 7 wins, possibly 8 with the roster that we currently have to choose from.

However, I get the feeling that someone (probably Cable) likes Satele and there will be no attempt at an upgrade this season.
