Raiders | Kiffin still has questions regarding Henderson

Raiders | Kiffin still has questions regarding Henderson
Fri, 4 Jul 2008 08:01:03 -0700
Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin said OT Mario Henderson continues to have issues surrounding his physicality and passion for the game. "There was a lot of ability there when we picked him," Kiffin said of Henderson. "There were some questions about how physical he was, about his passion for the game, for the position, so we're trying to improve that." Kiffin added, "Pads will be big for Mario. Mario's got a lot of tools but he needs to become a physical player. To play on this line, we want physical guys and so that's where Mario is going to have to really grow."

Thanks for the 411. I hope coach cable can light a fire under his ass.

Can you say bust? Why did we draft a guy without passion for the game? Aren't lineman supposed to be physical?

I'll just say that I agree with you, and leave it at that. I really didn't know what to say after reading that.

Didn't we give up a pick to New England to move up and get this guy?

Either he's very athletic or looked good in silver & black...but I can almost guarantee he wasn't drafted for being a true football player.
To have your head coach question your passion for the game publically isn't a good thing.
Just what we need, a powder puff non passionate O lineman.

What was his 40 time? You can be pretty sure who's pick this was.

I can't wait til we see a Raiders draft that doesn't include 2-3 players running good 40 times. That's too bad Mario aint workin out...maybe Kiffin should try McNasty at Rt again...better than any other tackle on our roster...at least at the moment.

kick his ass to the curd then if he does not have passion. I say give him 3 weeks in full pads and if you see no MAJOR imporovement or any REL MEAN STREAK get rid of his ass and put somebody in ther that really wants to play like PMAC

yeah what a 3rd round: Quentin Moses, Mario Henderson, Johnnie Lee Higgins
Typical Raiders draft pick though. Has the prototype physical measurements but not the football resume. Way too high to pick players who need years of development and even then may not ever be good enough to play.

Come on Mario step it up man. You have to have a mindset when stepping on the field. Off the field you can be anybody you want but when you step on you are on another level, the Raider level.
