I was concerned last year because we only made a few moves to improve our line. We started with Simms and Green at the OT spots. Cable moved Gallery inside to Guard and brought in Newberry and Carlise. I would have never guessed that we would have had the success upfront running the ball the way we did last year. Now Cable has another year of evaluation to cut or build upon. We can improve again this year with almost an entirely new front. Hopefully Cable can create the magic he did last year and improve them again....

It was always going to be a harder job this offseason to get significant improvement than it was last offseason. I was amazed we managed to get anything near the level we did out of Green and Sims, that had potential disaster written all over it.

I can't see Green getting any better though, so it would be great if a McQuistan or Taylor could supercede him and emerge as a really good young talent there....unlikely though.

I would feel much better if we had done some upgrades on the O Line opposed to bringing in Question Marks but that is just me.

I realy agree with that article. If Javon Walker is in good shape we certainly dont lack any talent at the skills positions. I think we even have some material to be one of the best offenses in the league down the road, but all that talent wont show up if the line doesnt do its job.

Now we still have some of the same problems as last year on this line. Gallery wasnt proven and Newberry at center had a lot of question marks. Those arent issues anymore. The issues that we had and still have are both tackles. I think coach Cable had his imput about Harris and Henderson, so he has a lot of pressure to make them flurish.

I'm not sold on our o-line yet, I reallly expected some additions to be made in the off season. Hopefully we bring in more depth after the June 1st cuts.

My one cent:

Yep, the jury is out on the OL right now. I wasn't sold on the improvements that much last season either, but perhaps we these additions, they will become more solid.

Nuff.

Thanks 40! It will be interesting to see how this unit reacts come opening day.
