Trap game? Raiders must stuff Jags like Colts

Thanks 40. This is a game that we can win but we have to play mistake free football. That means tackling players at first contact not after 10-15 yards. Running sucessfully. Passing well and not turning the ball over. We could use a couple defensive turn overs ourself but Garrard is a pretty smart QB that does not make alot of mistakes and the OC plays him within his strengths. This is going to be a very tough one to win. I will be satisfied with playing well and see what happens.

We just finished playing a trap game against the Colts. This is no trap game. Bad matchup and even worse off with these two things

1. Fargas not playing
2. Jax got snubbed in Pro Bowl voting so they will be pissed, and need a win to clinch the division.

Agree... Good Points, Also on the road with a poor matchup for us defensively. The Jags Offensively have a big power oriented front line. They manhandled the Steelers upfront last week. We will see if we have the intestinal fortitude to stop their running game... The Jags have a lot to play for and they will not overlook us... Huge measuring stick for us on both sides of the ball. Defensively they bring it up front with their big men. Our lines on both sides will have their hands full... Double strap team, very physical... We will see how tough we are... GO RAIDERS !!!!

Great game to see who can/can't stop the run along the DL. Watch who gets owned - they most likely won't be here next season.

The Raiders are going to have to exploit the vague notion of "trap game" to its fullest Sunday, because - and Raider Nation's gonna hate this - the team is outmatched by the Jags in basically every facet of the game right now.

Raiders are a 12.5 point underdog, and i'm not sure we cover. I've noticed more often than not, when making a long road trip (west coast to east coast or vice versa) the road team usually loses when they're the favorite, and lose big when the underdog. that said, you never know, we could win. Any given Sunday.

last week:

Detroit travels to SD as 10 point underdog...get blown out
Cincinnati travels to SF as 8 point favorite...lose by 7
Seattle travels to Carolina as 7 point favorite...lose by 3

At this point, breaking these teams down like some are doing here is overkill. If we play with the same intensity for 60 minutes as we did last week, don't drop passes,turn it over and cut the penalties to under 50 yards we have a chance. If we fall short in any of those we lose.

I'd rather losse at right now why bother we need talent better off lossing the next 2 rather then letting the 49ers beat us so the pats can grab who ever we want

I think Jacksonville is a better team then Indy due to injuries to the Indy team. Like I said before it will not be easy at all to get a win.

IMO, this is definitely not a 'trap game'. The Jags are breaking down film of the Raiders vs. Colts game and realize the Raiders gave the Colts all they could handle.

This very well could be the most difficult match up for the Raiders.

* On the road
* Playing a top team
* Playing a team fighting for their playoff seed
* Playing a team with a stout Run D
* Playing a team with a high powered rush attack
