stop the manlove stuff, mccown has been upa nd down but he has been the only qb on the roster since spring mini camps that is why kiffin wanted him in, JR looks okay out there but you get the feeling he doesn't have full grasp of the offense

In all honesty...I wouldn't be surprised if we resign McCown and he starts next year too. NOT MY PREFERENCE but I expect it to happen.

speed kills? JR doesn't have a grasp of the offense? I think your a tiny bit off target huh? He hasn't even had more then 15 minutes of time working with the first team. Has he had any experience reading the many defenses teams will drop on him?

Does it matter all that much if we are 4-12, 5-11, or 6-10? No and even with McCown under center, our chance of winning the last 2 are not much better. SO we might as well start Russel and let him take his lumps. He's a big guy, he'll take his lumps and he'll learn the offense a lot quicker now that he will have a more practical grasp of the offense. You can spend all your time in the film room and practice scrimmages but the only way to get adjusted is to be in REAL game situations. Our season is shot so we might as well give him the opportunity to learn via real game experience. To use a golf analogy you can spend all the time in the driving range and the putting green but it still will not take the place of playing 9-18 holes on a course

Let's also keep in mind we haven't given up a sack in three games, we're running the ball well and this is the N*F*L. Not For Losers. Time to put him in and get some practical experience. Next year is coming up soon, and I've said it countless times already: we need to know what we have at various positions so we are well prepared for the FA and draft in the off season.

Did you forget he NEVER HAD A PRESEASON? And hasn't even worked with the first team beyond cleanup at practice? Why would anyone with half a brain want anything but the best scenerio for him come out in? I'll tell you why. Because you want to see him NOW. Or your as smart as an egg plant.
