The Raiders are not a good team right now. And while a part of me wants Russell to gain valuable experience for the future, at what expense should that experience come?
As Porter said, what happens when you put Russell in the game now and the team continues to lose because the rest of the offense is not good right now? What happens when the fans boo Russell because he isn't Jesus in a Raiders uniform and the team doesn't look instantly better?
I am excited for the future and I can't wait to see Russell play, but he is the future of the franchise and we can't afford to fukk this one up. So if the coaches want to keep sitting him then that's ok I guess. Because is Russell seriously going to make the current Raiders automatically win games by himself?

SO WHEN IS IT TIME. The team won't improve drastically enough for it to be a significantly better team next year to Russell to work with, so what are we to do? Sit him for three years until we have a good supporting cast? No, get his ass in there, and show us what he's made of. It doesn't matter if he's thrown to the lions or if he comes along slowly. You honestly think Ryan Leaf or Smith would be good if they had time? No, the best way to get better is through experience. That's why FOOTBALL players and not potential guys are usually starting rookie year and getting invaluable experience.
