The Raiders' team doctors believe Josh McCown will miss one-to-two weeks as a result of his fractured big toe.

Whether McCown plays against the Dolphins will be determined based on his tolerance for pain. For now, Daunte Culpepper is Oakland's likely starter.

BFD, he knows that when cpep starts he'll do way better than he could ever do. sorry but at this point josh would be being really selfish and a total ass if he starts. we won't win with dinged up turnover machine, we will win however with a rocket armed former all pro qb.

McCown needs to sit this **** down. He knows that if Daunte starts and does good then he's probably done as a starter. If he starts and he's not healthy he's just hurting the team. I can't believe Kiffin still wants this guy to be the number one QB. If McCown was healthy he would be starting.

Problem is we have a bye week after this week so unless Daunte looks like the old Daunte we will probably be seeing Josh in week 6

So what, nothing to lose. Until JR starts, I think Kiff will support Josh to get Daunte to work harder. I truly think that DC came in thinking he is the guy, but Josh works his ass off, although he doesnt have the skills. Supporting Josh is getting DC to step up. I would hope seeing that happen, it gives JR a chance to see how people get motivated.

We can pray for that scenario because that is the script for a good season. Also, if all play well, both DC and JM can sign on for good gigs with either another team, or a cush job backing up JR. Plus our QB of the future, gets the training that will make him great.

So what, nothing to lose? I agree Josh works his ass off but he does not have the skills of Daunte. We still have a chance this season and running Josh back out there in a couple weeks to play the Chargers and Chiefs is not a good thing for the season IMO.

Maybe Kiff knows that Pep is going to be gone after the season and he needs Josh to backup JR next year....Can't throw the kid out there without a quality back up.
