Many fans are scratching their heads about Kiffin's decision to start McCown vs. Denver and now Cleveland. If McCown doesn't perform up to a certain level vs. Cleveland, then Culpepper will get his chance vs. the Fins. Kiffin has stated publicly this week that he won't hesitate to insert Culpepper in as the starter.
I know this might sound stupid, irrational, and UN Raiderlike but I want the Raiders to win vs. Cleveland IN SPITE of McCown's performance. In other words, I want the victory but I don't want there to be any doubt or indecision about Culpepper becoming the starter. Make sense?

Thanks 40
To comment on the article, starting McCown was a mistake from the start. Pepp was clearly the better QB in preseason dispite apparently not knowing the good book. McCown may have shown some signs he can get the job done, then he plays like hell. Hot and cold, no consistancy. Do we change QB's or just wait till JRuss is ready, which shouldn't be too long I hope. I believe this club wants to win as much as the fans want them to, but all we can do is wait and watch. I believe in Kiffin that he will get the job done. I also believe the Nation is getting restless, and we won't be happy without either a win or blood.

If the offense does not protect Culpepper his knee is history, Kiffin would look the fool for starting him, I think Kiffin is waiting on the offensive line to hold alittle better before he thinks about putting Culpepper in the line of fire. Just my 2 cents.

It's interesting he brings up the point we could have easily won both are games. And he is right, i mean we were up 21-20 with less than 5 minutes to go. and we were up 20-17 with less than 2-3 minutes to go. YES both were heart-breakers but the more i think about it, its Missed opportunities. YES we got screwed last game, however had the defence held denver before they could go down the field and tie it up, we would have a win, had the offence drove down the field better after the big run by jordan in OT, we could have a win. Had our defence held in the detriot game at the end we would have won. The team has ALOT of potential, we COULD have been 2-0. But i think we are killing ourselves.

I have a hard time understanding the thoughts of some of you. I've found myself drawn into the rants of the person called 2many. As previously stated, it's from DECADES of frustration. And when,"fans" continue to express compliance with continued obvious questionable calls from the team, it pisses me off. I feel this persons frustration. I can't help but see another year of mediocrity. A LOSING SEASON. And I'm dead sick of it.
How long have all you been fans? This team did used to be a winner. It was expected. And it seems not enough's done these day's to break that cycle. Gruden was. And proved it. And what was his reward? He wanted more control. He deserved it. He got the A.D. boot. When people start understanding this and not accepting the failures and head scratching decisions that have become the laughing stock of the league, only then will culpibility for these moves be demanded. IT'S THE FANS THAT PAY, IN MORE THEN ONE WAY. |

I'll also add, proof of my rant is the hundreds that read over this and sit on their hands and grumble to themselves. Like why we've had to deal with who's run this country for the last 7plus years. To many unmotivated people. Someone said degradation of society? Proof is in the president. Two terms. One wasn't enough to motivate enough people. Enough said. I really don't have much use posting in here anymore. I'm just beating my head against the wall.

starting the 'better' qb seems like the obvious answer. kiffin is seeing something during the week that keeps him to his decision starting mcC. i dont disregard the fact we still went into ot with denver despite the fact that mcC was injured. hes got heart at the very least. culpepper had a few amazing years as a viking. made some great comebacks. but he was more like a rollercoaster ride. many ups and downs. inconsistancies drive me crazy. if it were up to me id start the healthy culpepper, but im not the coach...therefore, i wait and watch.

Y'all contribute to why football fans across the league look at the team fan nucleus and laugh. I can't blame them. reason why going to a home game is like walking into a pre-school prison across the border.the team owner is why teams continue to lick there chops every year they play the raiders. they can get a healthy and a win in one week. i'm with it. can't argue with empty heads. nice try, it ain't anger. it's frustration. like trying to get a egg plant to speak or a rock to understand. I'll let the drones run. I just see this mentality and am glad I wont be alive to see what y'alls kids kids have done to this planet. if it still exsists. consider this post my,"super nova". this energy has moved on.
