Russell update: Russell missed his 40th day of practice since training camp started. The former LSU quarterback is poised to be the first No. 1 overall pick to remain unsigned by the season opener since Bo Jackson jilted Tampa Bay in 1986.

Kiffin said there is "nothing" new to report and that his attention is with his team.

"There is a definite focus on this team, getting them prepared," Kiffin said. "It's nothing against JaMarcus. That's just where the energy needs to be."

I only care about the Raiders.
I dont care about Russell right now, he isnt a Raider.
If he ever does become a Raider, then i will care about him and give him my full support.
Until then, im just focusing on The Raiders.

and then what? waste another high pick on a QB? wait for another Culpepper to fall in your lap? or a 3rd rounder pan out? it is what it is, a lenghty hold-out enabling us to get a good veteran QB, so we dont have to waist a year developing the 22 year old rook (i know the defense likes this scenario a lot). he evantually will sign and learn from Culpepper. perfect. in terms of JR, we got time imo. its not ignorant to demand your "market value", its a system error!
