Hopefully Warren will just blow off what Sapp says. I would like to see him make Sapp eat his words but dont think that will happen. It has got to suck to hear/read this from a leader of the team you just got traded to.

Sapp needs to chill. I know he's the leader of our D, but Warren is an upgrade over Brayton any day of the week. If that's one of Sapp's illustrious 8, too fuking bad!

I actually like Sapp's response. He is sticking up for his teammates, 'his 8". I think thats awesome. If Warren makes the team it means one of them might be cut.. hmm or maybe Sapp just doesn't like that his first name is the same as this guys last name??

Raiders coach Lane Kiffin called it a "low-risk" move that would make the team better if Warren is good enough to make the roster or cost nothing if he wasn't.

"It was not out of a need that we were disappointed with anybody that was playing for us or anything," Kiffin said. "This was the ability to add somebody that could bring competition to us if he's in the right mind-set."


I dont understand what Sapp is trying to prove. This guy is not going to challenge him for his starter's role, so what's the problem?? A team with good depth, just becomes that much more dangerous, look at the ne pats. It looks to me like Coach Kiffin & Derrick Burgess understand what's going on. Why not give this guy a try? You have everything to gain, and nothing to lose. Absolutely a low risk-High reward scenario for The Oakland Raiders Defense. Sapp is over there getting a little emotional about his eight. Looks to me like it's more Burgess' eight. Seems to me he's looking out for the betterment of the team, and Burgess wants what's best for the Defense!!!!! A low risk-High reward scenario for the Defense, yeah....makes me just want to cry that somebody better might join our team and more wins might come our way because of it.

Sapp's been in the league a long time and I'm sure stories of Warren has made the rounds not to mention that his former running partner John Lynch is still suiting up for Denver. If Sapp is making noise like this I'm sure that he has a good reason.

Wasn't warren on the Browns talking smack before Jamal Lewis Ran for like 300 YDS! Warren made his bed by how he's played in the past etc. Sapp is just calling him out right now. Heck a TON of people weren't feeling Sapp when he was signed here now they love him. If Warren has that in him then fine if not then he shouldn't make the roster.

Love Sapp's loyalty, but that's why he's playing and not the GM.

Low to no-risk, and only potential rewards....why wouldn't you make this move? Get some good info on the new Denver scheme too since he's been there all offseason....

The guy is a member of the Raiders now. Like him or not, he is a teammate. I like Warren sticking up for his guys, but he should understand that Hawthorne is raw, brayton is brayton and depth could help the team. It just seems immature, or that Sapp is threatened.
