No excuse whatsoever for passing on QB again - none.

Passing on Matt Leinart wasted a season on offense, right now we should have been welcoming CJ or AP, but becuase of last years gross incompetence we can't do that.

It's fool that doesn't learn from his mistakes.

Agree 100%. A franchise QB is just too important to pass up.

The problem is that neither Russell or Quinn are likely to be 'franchise' QB's. Quinn maybe so long as he is in the right system. In fact, imo, Trent Edwards is more likely to be a franchise QB than the other 2.

Agree both come with a risk, but I think one of them is worth the gamble...we need a lift. IMHO drafting another WR does not achieve that.

Why did JR come out? "because the one picked first gets the most money" he said that. He is just some punk ass who wants to get paid. He should give some of that money to the ND defense cuz he was a second-third round pick before that. VY displayed leadership, performance in the clutch, athletic abilities, he didn't have weight issues or a bad work ethic. Russell does, he'll just take the money and ballon up with his freakin donuts. Take calvin and hold him to the highest bidder, hopefully land BQ or keep Calvin.

I admitt...ya we lost it last year beginning with the horibly O-line we had...This year im pretty sure our O-line will be fixed up enough to take our "Franchise QB" or the "Stud" Wideout in Calvin Johnson.

Draft Calvin Johnson #1 and explore our options to see if we can get such an insane deal from Tampa..that we cant refuse, otherwise...keep Johnson and draft a QB in the 2nd round if needed.

Ya, but he's one Big punk ass. C.Woodson was a punk too, but he was a baller.
The draft is a crap shoot, you do the best you can.

Exactly my perception on drafting JR or any other qb at #1. None is worth it. Best to simply draft the best player available which is Calivin Johnson..Yes, trade him to highest bidder..Picking Adrian Peterson. Qb gems are available in lower rounds..no need to foolishly risk a high pick on JR...Raiders need a Potential player to start immediately..not some expensive project to carry around the clip-board while he mature. Raiders do not have the luxury to draft a Player who cannot start Nowwwwwwwww!!
