Agreed! Davis made the call! I just think Art agreed with the call so if Al really is complaining then it should just be because Art didn't disagree with him! As if that would make any difference!

Me too. If I was Al Davis I would have tried to fight him and Tom Walsh for such a miserable, hellish, damnation of a season. Wait a minute, if I was Al Davis the last person one earth I would think of to hire as a coach would be Art Shell. But Im not Al Davis. I don't know who I am.

First off anyone who knows the Raiders and Al Davis, Davis will never admit he was wrong, certainly not in the press! There is always someone there to be the scape goat and in this case it happens to be Shell...

He said to me many times through the years that owners are often the problem with their franchises, that too many of them think they can run things when they cannot, and the teams that succeed are the ones where the owner hires the best people he can and turns the game over to them."

If Al wanted Leinart he would have been the QB here. That being said I find it kind of funny that some people are pissed about Huff. What has Leinart done yet to make anyone think he is some sort of savior. Maybe it was his 11 TD and 12 Ints?

It was a no brainer to draft Leinart. I really did not think we had a chance in hell of landing him, but when he fell to us and we passed on him I almost passed out.

I'm with you. No way, Al doesn't have some say so or the final word on draft selections. Shell may have added his two cents. But I still believe Al has the final say so.

What do think he's going to say? Hell he's got more than one client in Art Shell... he's got to have a working relationship with owners like Davis! I've also never heard of an agent being in the room unless it was a contract negotiation...
