And if Al can't get a trading partner?

We're stuck with the best player in the draft........darn the luck.

There are other QB's with simialr talent/potential in the draft to be had in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.

In his last six starts, Leinart completed 115 of 186 passes (62 percent) for 1,432 yards (239 per game) with 6 TDs and 5 INTs. The Cardinals went 4-2 in those games. Those are damn good numbers for a rookie quarterback.

On top of that, had the Raiders done the right thing and drafted Leinart last year, they might be choosing between Peterson and Johnson right now instead of scrambling to solve a woeful quarterback situation.

Not to mention the fact that leinart would be reuinited this year with coach Kiffin! I bet they would have been a great combo in the NFL!

Im sorry but I don't think were going to pick CJ.

Here is my reasoning....

a) All of a sudden the 2nd pick is the gold that teams are gunning for

because...

b) It's cheaper to get CJ now.

which means...

c) There are more teams interested in CJ, than have been reported before (ie. 'skins)

which also means...

d) CJ is going to be available at #2

This means...

e) The Raiders have settled on a QB at #1....we hope

I get the feeling that if the pick is Russell, then we're going to look back in regret at this draft pick.....sigh

At least we can say..."we had a chance at this guy" some fans can't say that at all.....LOL (that depresses me actually)

At least Quinn could play next year, it seems Russell can't and we all know that first round qbs usually end up starting the last half of their rookie season...which means Kiffen will have to dedicate time to get Russell up to speed in 8 weeks, and that hinges on Russell being signed early and is in training camp from day 1.

Bring on the draft...pleeeeeeeeeease, i'd like to know which flavour of hemlock to take as soon as the Raiders pick Russell.

sorry bro, but this guy can catch anything thrown his way on top of the 40 time and size.
this guy will be the real deal. im not saying the raiders should or shouldnt draft him, just saying its not just his speed.

Cleveland will move CJ if Russel(us)and Quinn(Detroit) are gone.

I was under the impression there is a distinct drop in talent from Quinn and Russell...to the 2nd tier of QBs (Edwards - Stanton - Kolb).

So its a matte of value and if CJ + one of the 2nd level qbs is more than Quinn/Russell and whoever they take in the 2nd round (i'm predicting Lynch falls to the 2nd round btw.... )

IMO the difference in talent between BQ, JR and Stanton, Edwards or Kolb is not big enough to justify 30-50 million gauranteed.

I think all the pre-draft hype has ballooned thier value beyond just good NFL prospects to "franchise savoirs".

If Al is determined to go QB at #1, I would prefer Quinn due to him having more experience and seems to really want to win, rather than just collect a big fat paycheck (pun intended once again).

Ive noticed every great Wr had a great Qb, although not many but there have been some really good Qbs w/out a good wr - Elway, Brady, Hasselback, Vince Young, - so i think a Qb would make a bigger impact - but thats just my opinion doesnt make me right.
There is no question that we need a QB. Even though a receiver may touch the ball 8 times in a good game, When you got a guy like CJack lining up it helps open up your running game as it will keep teams DB/LB honest. I was originally all for JRuss and I will not be overly disappointed with any of the 3 that they are discussing.

I think that taking CJ and trading back to 4 for additonal draft picks would be the best scenario because we are still likely to end up with quinn or Jruss
