If we did that we'dve quit on Walter before we even gave him a fair shake

We made the right move, and the D is going to be tough for years to come because of it.

Huff will be a pro-bowler book it, he didnt have all the stats because of they way we used him.

I also wanted Huff because I thought Walter was our future but im not so sure now. But hell Lienart would have been a no brainer if we knew were were going to get Kiffin.

i am with you. he is one of the main reasons our D was ranked so high last year against the pass. He had a quiet impact on the secondary last year.

NO, if we'd taken a QB last year, we would currently be calling him a bust.

When Brooksie got hurt, he would have had playing time on a team with HORRIBLE WRs (Moss due to attitude, Whitted just sucks), No O'line, Ham handed TEs, and a substandard run game.

You'd all be yelling Bust right about now.

Yeah I think he did ok, but that position isn't as much of an impact as QB, RB or even WR or CB. I just think it was the wrong time to draft a safety when we so badly needed a QB, and ML was one of the best prosepcts in the last decade.

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. These guys are getting paid to come up with this garbage. Who the hell do you get hired at BSPN? Seriously. I want to apply becasue I could sit there just as easy as any one of these idiots and make **** up. Nice observation Dan and Chris man you guys are smart. They should shut the hell up. Huff is going to be a stud for years to come. And Walter hasn't gotten a fair shake and I think he should have one. I want us to sign a vet and possibly draft a QB because you have to have more than one good QB on your roster. I think Walter can do good in a good system and hopefully that's what he'll have next year. Matt Leinart or Jay Cutler wouldn't have done **** last year and everybody would be clling them busts rightnow. And for what reason? The same reason everybody is calling Walter a bust. Leinart had young WR's who play there ass off and he had the edge and a better o-line. Walter had recievers that either sucked (Whitted) or quit on him (Mr. Moss) and a running back or could have one dancing with the starts last year I'm still pissed he wasn't a finalist. Cutler had a proven team with a proven system with a good o-line and good recievers. I think if Walter was on either one of those teams he would have done just as good or better.

I also shouldn't of worn a black shirt today, I passed up on that nice white button up in the closet. I guess I didn't know it was going to be fending off the heat today, darn. Well I'm a Raiders fan and I wore a Raiders shirt, I'm not going to look back on my decision and regret it. I felt a need to represent, rather then being cool. I move foward and stick with my choice, just like I back my team and their choices.

had we taken Cutler or Leinart last year, we would have been in better position this year going into the draft to make us a better team. we may not have had the first pick overall, but still we could be in position to draft in the top 5. the top three prospects, Calvin Johnson, Joe Thomas and Adrian Peterson teamed with Cutler or Leinart would have made this team so much better.

hindsight is 20/20. no disrespect to Huff, but i found Patrick's points to be pretty valid and hard to disagree with.
I would have to believe that if the Raiders had it do all over again they would have selected one of these QBs. That being said, I believe that if the Raiders had drafted and then played either Leinart or Cutler last year they too would have been doomed to failure and would have been as ineffective as either Brooks or Walter. Then some of us would be questioning their manhood and leadership abilities after playing in the disaster that was the Raiders offense last year. Also a fair number of fans on this board would be still be lobbying for Russell or Quinn this year.

It's probably a moot point since the odds seem to favor the Raiders selecting either Russell or Quinn. The trade of Moss to GB with Rodgers coming Oakland's way intrigues me though. If the Raiders were to draft a QB in 1st round why would they then want Rodgers in return? Maybe there is something to the Calvin Johnson rumors? Or is it JaMarcus Russell deep to Randy Moss? Should be an interesting six weeks until draft time.
