Johnson, whom some people think is the most talented player in the draft, had a 42½-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot-7 broad jump. And he looked very good catching the ball while running routes.

I know I might take a beating here about this comment but I have to say it anyways.
When I watched the games or the hilights each week this past year in the college game on ESPN or FOX I didn't see C. Johnson ever making some stupendous catch or being the difference maker for his team week in and week out. Ya he looks great as a WR and I'd love to have him on my team, but D. Jarrett of USC was a human hilight reel last season, making one handed catches and being a difference maker in almost every game he played in. Ya I am partial to USC but still I think there will be a few WR's in this draft that will have great pro careers and I would rather take my chance on a QB then a WR with the 1st pick if we were to keep that pick !

I think this draft is deep at WR. Shoot, we can get Russell in the first and maybe grab Bowe in the 2nd.

You've got to be kidding me. Every catch Calivn Johnson made was a highlight reel catch. He had *THE* worst 4 year starting QB in the history of D1-A football (and I urge you to try to find me a worse one that Reggie Ball), and he still managed to produce... and only because he was capable of making some amazing plays. I can only imagine what CJ is gonna be like when somebody can actually get him the ball - we are talking 1600 yard seasons in the NFL. 6-4 240 4.35 42inch Vert - That isnt even out of this world, thats out of this galaxy. Red Zone!
And you know, Im as big or bigger on USC as you are. Never missed a game that DJ has played in, visited practices - and I dont see this amazing player that you apparently see. DJ is gonna be solid, for sure, but nowhere near what CJ is capable of becoming.

USC for the last 6 or so years was the top draw regardless of who was balling there. Carroll has finely tuned machine running down there and the nation is crying for a looksey......When was Tech a national power? Do your ears perk up when the announcer talks about the Yellowjackets? Not really. You'll see ND, Fla and USC week after week. I think you have to go with the most talented player regardless of position, CJ seems to be low risk, Jamarcus a bit higher risk, but higher reward as he is playing a position with more influence on the game....though having CJ dragging 2-3 DB's with him isn't a bad thing. For year's to come we'll be watching how the players the Raiders passed up are doing and 2nd guessing the pick.
