Wow, that's kind of surprising. There was some speculation at one point that if Lombardi were to get fired, Jones might be one guy who would take his place. Looks like Lombardi may be winning all the internal battles. Either that, or Al is completely cleaning house.

I'm guessing Al might be trying to keep Lombardi (who I think has a contract that expires later this year) and so he jettisoned Jones who was tight with Shell to help convince Lombardi to sign an extension.
