OK, so there were a few glaring missed tackles by Stu, but he was third on the team in tackles, so maybe he's not so bad. The bad angles everyone likes to talk about are because he was forced to go after a RB who he is not supposed to cover or even watch, or a WR who found a hole in our pathetic prevent and now he's forced to go from covering a zone to trying to catch a fast ass WR who split 2 or 3 other defenders before Stu. He is no probowler to be sure, but give the kid a break. If our run D was better, and we didn't play so much sorry prevent, he would not be put in those situations so often. Oh, and Huff did OK, agree he would be better if we swapped him and Stu around and Bing could have come in as relief (I know we got him for a LB but...)

Huff was OK last year. Not really good, certainly not great and definitely not bad. He was OK.
On the plus side, he was solid in coverage against tight ends and played well near the line of scrimmage.
On the negative side, he failed to make any big plays of note and he missed a lot of tackles in space.

There's still a lot of time for him to get better. People in Pittsburgh were calling Polamalu a bust after his rookie season. Let's hope Huff makes similar strides from his first to second season.

i really hope you are being sarcastic...

landry is a harder hitter then huff but the reason why we got huff is because he is just so damn versatile. he can play every single position in the secondary, ryan doesnt really unleash younger players til they get more experience, he just wants them to learn the position. when he came in nnamdi had a higher learning curve, look at him now, fabian improved, stu has improved even though people wont admit it, morrison became a damn good LB, watch and see howard next year, you'll see.

people just get enamored with future draft picks, at the time everyone was calling huff so many things and i still think he'll be awesome, but when they see he played like a rookie, made some mistakes but learned, they just assume he sucks and wants the next best thing, then if landry plays, he will struggle, he will suck, then the next player is gonna be great, rinse, wash, repeat, etc, etc...

also people need to remember, this was the first year our defense was actually how we envisioned it. ryan's first year it was a 3-4 then we went to a 4-3 with brayton and irons at LB, then to a nickel all year and finally we can play a true 4-3 and look how much we improved! i mean if that doesnt give you hope that the players will improve given a good scheme i dont know what will.

landry is a good player, but with him coming out this year and huff last year, there is no doubt about it, huff was and is more highly reguarded due to his versatility.

huff will be more then fine, him along with nnamdi, fabian and stu will create one of the best secondaries in the nfl for quite some time.

Huff did a terrific job under the radar

he was a big part on why we were the #1pass defense
he was hardly ever caught out of position
tackled well
Rob Ryan was testing him this year seeing what suits him best expect a huge year for Huff next year, he did a great job as a rookie very pleased with the pick

he needs time to develop. troy polamalu did not breakout in his first year. be patient. helping make the secondary one of the best is enough for me in his rookie season.

Huff needs to be at free saftey where he can do something. Where does it leave Swig...Can he play down in the box? Can he run with Gates and Gonzo? I'd like to see him at free saftey this coming season.

Huff did an excellent job in coverage. Alot of the time, when there was a huge gain or a TD, Huff had been rotated out for Gibson.
