Stacey Toran was a great one also. Sad that he died so young and prime of his career.

Tatum is the craziest Raider of all time. He belongs in the HOF.

The 2 best Raider teams had the best tandems, 76, Atkinson and Tatum, 83 Mcelroy and Mike Davis.

Mike Davis has to be there too. His interception against Cleveland in the playoffs paved the way for the 80 SB win against the Eagles.

Nobody was more feared that Tatum and nobody gave as much pound for pound and inch for inch than Atkinson.

Mcelroy gave you everything he had on every play. Davis was smooth, steady and dependable.

Great safeties. Our hope is Huff can become the type of player they were.

Mike Davis should be bumped up to 3rd ahead of Woodson and Lott who made their names with other teams first.

For the combination of bad play, failing to live up to potential/expectations and off-field stupidity, Patrick Bates is without a doubt the worst safety in Raiders history.

that top five is almost right on, but i would take out lott. only because he was past his prime when we got him. he did alright for us but was not the player he was when he was with the 9ers. also eric turner and eddie anderson. come on where are they are your list? top 5 on mine thats for sure.

Good list. McElroy is way underrated. Tatum is obvious. Honorable mention for Eddie "the Hitman" Anderson, Eric Turner, and Burgess "I was the Starting Free Safety in Super Bowl XV" Owens.

And anyone who thinks Stu is the worst has a very short and very bad memory.

ProbowlStu isnt gonna respond to this or any other thread, FYI

And, as a work in progress, Stu is decent but definately could become a Saftey bust for the team

I think this is a fairly easy list as these 5 were exceptional and anyone after them are a definite notch down.

Lott
Tatum
Woodson
Atkinson
Turner

I doubt any other team can tout that quality in Safety 5 deep.
