????? about TJ Duckett

Didn't he void his final year of his contract a couple weeks ago and become a FA. I know he woked with Knapp in ATL and was the Bruiser but we don't have one of those and whether we draft a RB or not we could always use a Bruiser.

2 Questions then

1)Did he void his contract making him a FA
2) Would anyone here want him

I would personally rather look for a RB with breakaway speed than a bruiser, but Duckett was good in ATL. I have no clue about his contract status.

He's a great back-up RB. He knows his role, knows that he will only get at th emost 15 carries a game, unless he is on fire, understands how to prepare for his role as a back-up and understands what it takes to play; coming off the field and getting back on, consistently throughout the game.

I like him. Plus, he's a nice change of pace guy. Everyone always talks abotu changing the pace with a fast, shifty guy -- well, changing the pace with a big bruiser is just as good as long as they are able to gain 4 or more yards per carry.

Him, Jordan, Fargas...thats a punishing attack if used right.

I dont think it will happen...

But, that would be a very nice trio to have if possible, when dreaming. Then, a A.Peterson isnt needed obviously...

does duckett play the full back position at all? or is he just considered a bruising back up RB?

He tends to tiptoe at the line, but if he gets fired up he plays like he is a bulldozer. If you coach is a great motivator, TJ is the guy.

Raiders have little depth at RB....Crockett is up there in age and needs to be replaced soon. Fargas had his best year, but is not capable of carrying the load. Jordan is injury prone....even more so than Fargas and cannot be counted on. So yes, the addition of a bruiser would definitely help. I still would draft a RB in the draft ...no later than the third round.

That is what I was thinking, Maybe a Kenny Irons, Antonio Pittman or Tony Hunt

One of those with Fargasand Duckett would be a pretty good backfield

Duckett and Dunn made a nice combo I wouldn't mind having him smashing folks in an S&B uni

Duckett isn't a fullback...doesn't have the mentality for it. with that said, he was a rent-a-player for the Skins when Portis went down in preseason. he wasn't even in the rotation except for a few games.

Duckett will most likely be playing on the east coast next year. rumor has it that he may be signing a deal with the Eagles as their short yardage / change of pace back to relieve Brian Westbrook.

Duckett reminds me a lot of Wheatley, a real bruiser of a back. If he's available, I hope Kiffin takes a run at him.
