Sarkisian Motive

Was it the plan all along to use Sarkisian to get to Kiffin? If so, was Sarkasian aware of this? It seems like Sarkisian has a definite motive. He just stepped up a few rungs on the USC successor to Pete Carroll ladder.

I think the plan was to get both actually...We got one, that's not too bad.

^^^ I'm not sure if we were aiming at both. Sark was a former coach in Oakland and knows the organization. It seems strange to me that he would be happy as hell and thrilled with the coming events and then just turn sour.

Maybe Davis used his connections to get the man he really wanted. What if Sark was the potential OC and Kiffin was always the HC prospect?

Either I am over analyzing, brilliant, or I've had too much coffee and sugar this morning but I see a shred of reasonability here.

My take is that USC / Carroll made the choice of choosing Sark over Kiffen as the heir apparent at USC. Kiffen seeing the writing on the wall at USC decided to take the plunge with the Raiders -- good career move on his part IMHO. It will be interesting to see who the OC will be? They might have trouble finding a good OC since Kiffen is an OC himself - maybe Trestman will come back - since he has experience with Al Davis and the organization and was pretty successful last time here (albeit with Gannon as QB).

I am VERY happy with the Lane Kiffen hire - I would much rather take a risk with a young coach instead of a retread. Al Davis does have a knack for finding talented young coaches so I like the Raiders track record in this regard.

I read somewhere that Sark was HC and Kiffin the OC. Yea for what it's worth, who knows....is Davis really that.....brilliant to get HIS man Kiffin, by working Pete Carroll?
