Not really - please continue.

I'm just totally not on the Troy Smith & Jemarcus Russel Bandwagon, if any QB is worth my time its Stanton. As far as HC....Lofton is interesting but i'm not to sure.

Have to say "no", Blonde.

When it's all said and done, I'll bet the farm that Lofton was just the "Rooney rule" candidate.

Don't mean to tip the wagon

Lofton isnt the answer and never will be. I think Sarkisian would be a good choice.I thought this would be over with by now but, it could go another month all the good choices will be gone.

I prefer Sarkisian but wouldn't complain if they went with Lofton. The only thing that would really piss me off is if it's either Fassel or Green but that doesn't seem like it will happen. So right now I'm thinking it's between Sark and Loft.

Just because Lofton has more NFL experience it doesn't mean he's a better coach... or have some of you just somehow forgot this past season with one Art Shell??? he's got more NFL experience than Lofton and Sarkisian combined... BFD

Sorry, but I won't be coming near that wagon. Having Lofton for anything more than a WR coach is asinine.....but that's my opinion. Actually, it's the opinion of a few others as well.....

Lofton got turned down by USD....they hired Ron Caragher(Kentucky assistant coach) over him.

Lofton got turned down by Stanford.....they hired Jim Harbaugh. Speaking of which, don't be suprised if Harbaugh is a future Raiders HC. He will be in the area now....expect Mr. Davis to keep a close watch on him. Here's an interesting read from 2004......

http://www.sdhoc.com/main/articles/t...ughborntocoach

Quote:
Jim Harbaugh lived the good life of the NFL, playing quarterback 15 years and spending another two seasons in 2002 and 2003 as the Oakland Raiders’ quarterbacks coach. His only responsibility, he recently joked, was to “coach three guys, trying to get them to make another million dollars on their next contract go-round.”
That wasn’t fulfilling enough. Harbaugh jumped at the opportunity to take over the program at the University of San Diego, a school that plays far from the limelight of college football, not to mention NFL comforts, as a Division I-AA non-scholarship university.
Even cautions from Raiders owner Al Davis and Raiders player personnel director Mike Lombardi didn’t dissuade him. Harbaugh coveted the job.
“Mr. Davis and Mike Lombardi didn’t think it was the right move,” Harbaugh said. “Mr. Davis thought I could some day be the head coach of the Raiders if I stayed there. I said, ‘Mr. Davis, I’ve followed your career and you coached in college.’ He said, ‘Yeah, but at USC, not USD.’ But since I took the job he has been real helpful and supportive.”
Interesting thing about the last paragraph. Al kinda dogged USD....but interviews a guy that was turned down by them? Strange to say in the least.

Lofton needs to show he's capable of handling a head coaching job at any level.....let alone the NFL. A few years as the Chargers WR coach isn't a demanding job and he doesn't deserve a shot HCing in the pros. Truthfully, I'm not even sure if he's qualified to be an OC at the college level yet. At very least, I'd like to see him be a HC at the JUCO level.

Dude ...

I didn't mean to call you out ... I apologize if it read that way.

All I'm saying is that many people are wanting to wait until NE's season is over and hire McDaniels. Has he even expressed any interest in this job? How did his name get thrown in the ring in the first place?
