The Raider Nation has never suffered like we have for the last four years, thus we are not used to being the doormat of the league. Why? Because Al Davis in all his years of ownership NEVER let us fall this far and now when at 77, He falters and all of us jump all over him? Thats not what being a Raider is all about. Being a Raider is about Pride and Poise and committing to excelence.l Love the Oakland Raiders because of what Al Davis has made them, the renagades of pro football. When the Raiders yet again reach the NFL's elite I will be there basking in the silver n' black afterglow.
People are quick to forget that we lost Gannon, Garner, and Romanowski ALL due to injury in the same year, that was the heart and soul of the Team, not too many teams could recover from 3 starters going down with career ending injuries, especially the positions they play.

exactly, anyone that thought the rebuilding of this franchise was going to happen overnight was dreaming, The future isn't as bleak as some will lead you to believe, if we had gotten just a mediocre year out of the offense this team would have finished in the middle of the pack. I can't see that happening again next year with a couple of key acquistions via free agency, the draft and a new coach, along with another year under the belts for the kids, I'm as Pete Carol would say "Pumped and Jacked" for the 2007 season.

With all the cap room we have this year, I'm sure we could field a team of hired guns on the offense and mortgage the future for the present again.

Bro - you have a way of making the homer sound so un-homer ... rep!

Damn ****ing skippy - we don't have the history, tradition and all-encompassing aura of the Raiders without Al Davis, and it certainly never dies ... it may lay down for a while to let others feel some sence of legitimacy (it'd be pretty gay to kill everyone all of the time, wouldn't it?) ... but it is not dead, it will return, and great fans such as Satanic will be right there in front, screaming like the undead in a living world.
Hell Yeah!!!!

The reason for our horrible last 4 years hasn't been a lack of talent, but a lack of discipline and horrible coaching. We may not have been playoff calibre but we certainly had enough talent to be competitive in the division. That is entirely on Al because he refuses to give his coaches autonomy which leads to the players effectively running the show, ie. Moss and before him Tim Brown.

Actually they will be hitting thier prime (except Sapp of course).

The defense gives me hope.

Imagine if this team was horrible on both sides of the ball......it would likely take several years to contend again.

No, we do not, but Al davis deserves credit when things go well, and deserves criticism when things go wrong. many teams rebuild and show improvement in much less then 4 years.

Not as much gay as maybe boring. Monotony leading to complacency.

Maybe that is the answer, Al got bored with kicking ass

2k4 Still trying to do it overnight, Collins was brought in... Gannon's career ended...

2k5 STILL trying to do it overnight, Moss was brought in...

2k6 Finally a young QB got some playing time and efforts were made a rebuilding. We all know that it didn't go well... But when you look at circumstances surrounding the season it is understandable.

The current situation was created by trying to do it overnight.

The Jets should not be considered overnight sensations, yes they had an off year last year but look at their injuries in 2k5.

one night?....no.....two nights?.....yes...lol

seasons from one to the next have been turned over from losing records to winning records. does this team need more than one year to be a winning club?....most likely. depends on whos the coach and what moves they make.

i got a feeling that if we dont get the right head coach, we are screwed. period.

Gruden almost did it in his first year. Think about it he won 8 games with that noodle armed mofo Hollas who hasn't sniffed NFL since we released him.
