Coughlin? no way
just read that coughlin is rumored to be a canidate on our coaching list...if or when he gets the ax.
per rotoworld.com http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/pla...aspx?sport=NFL Giants co-owner John Mara will address the situation of head coach Tom Coughlin later this week, he told the Associated Press Sunday. Coughlin is under contract through 2007 for $3 million but the consensus is he's outlasted his welcome in New York. His name has already popped up in connection with the Raiders' head-coaching vacancy. |

Right now I'm neutral on Coughlin. He wouldn't be my personal first choice...but I'm not sure what Oaklands options really are either.

Eli underperformed. The Giants were without many starters, and ever since Tiki made his lame comments about retiring they have been playing poorly. Not a first choice, but not too bad either. At least he has structure.

Not crazy about Coughlin AT ALL. He probably contributed to driving Tiki Barber into retirement, as much as Barber complained about him. They were ready to stage a mutiny against Coughlin last year when they got blown out in the playoffs. Having him deal with JP, Moss, etc (if those guys are back) would be catatasrophic.
I prefer to not go the retread route. Rather get a young guy who might be here a while like say, Sark. Shoot, I might even prefer Shoop if this guy is the alternative.

He wants full control so he won't come here.
