I agree with him.
First sensible thing I heard King say. It is amazing the morons at ESPN cannot even see that. A new coach only needs to get 5-6 wins to be praised for turning things around. With the top pick, cap room, and a young, exciting D, it is a great time for someone to take over.

There are definitely people in the league that want to see us succeed too, that think the Raiders NEED to be a force every year (now that we've had a substantial down turn)....our "franchise" is so marketable that the NFL would be foolish not to want that. Basically, the point I'm making is that for however many mongs there are out there that want to propogate this rumour that the Raiders are uncoachable or the Raiders only answer to one man, there are one or two level headed people flying underneath the radar that know the truth.

Jimi 18 is right....and I'd add that you'd have to be a fool to listen to anything the media says, because the second you DO succeed with us, that very same media will be s****** your dick till the end of time....Madden style.

Bingo, another good point. Look what it did for gruden.

I agree with him.
And you have your staff already chosen regardless of your input. You dont get coach personnel control (many who report to Al), you dont get player personnel control, history has shown that if you dont turn it around in one year the owner will fire you....

Look what Gruden did under the exact same circumstances. And he left to go to a team that had an entire defensive staff in place that he didn't touch.

DUDE!!! Art Shell was allowed to bring that B&B idiot as his OC so I don't think that's an issue at all.

or do most coaches want to go to a team that is all ready set up for them to be in the play-offs??

i just do not buy into all this crap that NO one wants to coach the Raiders.

JMHO (just MY humble opinion)
A good coach would come here in a heartbeat if he could hire his own staff! This is way no one will come here, it has nothing to do with our record or players. A real coach wants to call his own shots and pick his own players and staff. This is how the REST of the NFL works. This is why Patton went to the Saints and Petrino went to the Falcons. They want to coach were they can call the shots, whats wrong with that?

I think a lot of coaches would love to come in here and fix our O...history tells us that D wins championships and we have a solid D and can be a great one with a few tweaks. A coach could come in and make a name for himself similar to what Gruden did.

Shell's agent said that things in the organization were aligned against him. Probably the main reason Shell brought in Walsh was to have at least 1 guy that wouldn't rat him out every step he took.

Guys like Pertrino and I bet Sean Peyton, are going to demand full commitment from everyone in the organization. That won't happen w/Raiders. Like the CoCo article said, the Raider org is a cesspool. We have to pick somone hungry enough to dive in.
