David Ausberry “Most Impressive Unknown Player”

Peter King: David Ausberry "Most Impressive Unknown Player" as MMQB Visited Raiders Camp - Just Blog Baby - An Oakland Raiders Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and more.

''With a flashy new website that looks like it is about to become a trendsetter in how the NFL is covered online in this decade, Peter King kept the MMQB tour rolling through the West as the SI NFL writer continued his tour of the 2013 Training Camps around the league.

While in Oakland, King was particularly impressed with Raiders starting TE hopeful David Ausberry, complimenting the former USC Trojan’s early play during practices in Napa, including a nifty catch and run for a touchdown.

    3. Most impressive unknown player I saw: Oakland tight end David Ausberry, who had the best single move—a nifty catch, juke and run—in the first week of my tour.''

Ausberry does have some nice moves for his size and i can see him getting big YAC when he gets the ball and he is hard to bring down , Knapp should hae gave him more PT last year after that catch he had in the Miami game

the kid can definitely catch. and run after the catch. the biggest knock on him and why he didn't start last year or get more playing time is his blocking. he couldn't block your grandma. he must improve in that area. as stated before hopefully sparano can get him on the right track

I'm surprised no one ever mentioned Hayden vomiting on the field throughout OTAs.

The kid is a freak athlete but the wrap on him was he was an underachiever.

He's a freak athlete like Reece, if All was here David would get a shot.

True BEAST. Remember that catch and run he had last year when he was just pusing away the tacklers like flys? They need to use him more. Myers was overrated.

yeah, not too surprising. he doesn't have long to get back into playing shape and the JaMarcus approach ain't gonna cut it.

i remember that, it was against the dolphins and he ragged-dolled their linebacker Kevin burnett (who's with us now). U know he brings that play up and rubs it in his nose.

Ausberry would definitely give us the big play ability from the TE position that we didn't have last season. Now the questions are can he block and be consistent catching the ball?

He should be the favorite to win the job and it would be nice for whoever is our QB to have a reliable TE.

I'd like to see Ausberry take the job, I think he's got the most talent of the TE group.

Ausberry should've gotten more burn a long time ago. Raider coaches have a horrible track record with player development. These stories don't make me happy although they probably should, they only serve to remind me how this team has a tendency to keep good players on the bench. At least now Ausberry will really get the chance he should've gotten two years ago.
