I love this kid. I have a feeling he will be quite the story. SOMEBODY... I won't name names, but someone compared this kid to Louis Rankin... Louis F-ing Rankin?

No joke. He looks like a man among boys out there. Strong as an ox.

I'm loving the humility. Get in the end zone and hand the ball to the ref. So tired of all the stupid 'look at me' moves and dances. Act like you've been there before.

Got a really good feeling about this guy.

We shall see. Not many running backs in the NFL built like that any more. Use to be, but now most are short stocky shifty guys. Must be a reason.

So why didn't he produce for three years? Every situation is different so I'm not saying it's A Big Deal or anything. It's just something that would concern me if I looked at it with no context.

I couldn't help but laugh with your post ... sure the truth hurts, but sometimes it is funny.

Nevertheless, I hope you are wrong, I love watching a healthy McFadden.

Murray is the only value pick in the draft but a good one. I can't wait to see Murray play.

Living in Syracuse, NY, Murray went to OCS high school just south of Syracuse. The same small HS as former Michigan RB Mike Hart. He worked at a local grocery store in southern Syracuse that most people(including myself) have worked at when we were kids. My good friend worked in management there when Murray was also working there said he was one of the nicest kids they had there. No sense of entitlement despite being the big football star in high school, was always polite, did everything he asked, etc. This doesn't help whatsoever with his on the field ability, but it's always good to see at the very least he was/is a good character kid.

Maybe because he had tore his ACL and had surgery?

Latavius Murray 2013 NFL Draft Prospect Profile - , Central Florida Knights

In 2009 he Was medically redshirted after tearing his ACL and LCL while playing pick-up basketball before the season.
In 2012 Missed three games after suffering a bruised shoulder against Akron.

Latavius Murray, RB, Central Florida – 6th Round, 181st Overall –
He’s been called the best sleeper prospect at the running back position in the 2013 draft. Whatever the case Murray has a good chance at seeing action early in his NFL career. The speedy back has good size and an upright running style that reminds some of Darren McFadden. Of course that is an unfair comparison at this early stage. If Murray reveals himself as a reliable blocker and sure runner then he’ll figure to see plenty of snaps as the Raiders seek out a backup for Run DMC.
