While Saunders is a valuable coach for young players and source of knowledge for any staff, his last few tenures as primary play-caller have been less than inspiring. We need someone else.
Saunders was the OC for Hubert and knows how to work with our current offensive talent. It also keeps some continuity without changing to a anothercompletely different system

It's funny because I was just thinking about this... he went pretty silent most of the year.
I have to wonder if he's just not up for a coordinator role, and prefers being behind the scenes. Keep him in that capacity, give him reasonable input into the playbook, perhaps?

Ayso is a .sig genius!!
Dude is in his mid 60s, and hasn't had play calling duties in along time, time for some new blood.
He doesn't want to be the OC this has been said MANY times
Norv is another retread, no matter what you think that he did with Alex Smith. Look what he did to our offense the first time. Al got him the rb he wanted, Lamont Jordan (sucked), got him the strong armed qb Kerry Collins (sucked), got him the best wide out Randy Moss (made him irrelevant). Our offense under him was crap, i am sick of hearing his name. We already have the best OC for us on staff, Al Saunders, he knows our personnel, what worked for them, and how to get them going. Best choice is Saunders!
We have how many threads talking about OC choices and you have to start this highly enlightened one?? Really??

How many times does it need to be said that Saunders doesn't want to be a play caller anymore?
Norv Turner is a an excellent offensive coordinator because he knows how to get the most productivity out of an offensive line. OL is absolutely the most important part of any football team. Hire that man !

This is a rumor, have you asked him? obviously RM and DA never asked him, they wanted zone/west coast. Watch Saunders and practice, you would know he has plenty of energy to be a full time OC

Al Saunders will be considered as a replacement for the fired Greg Knapp, coach Allen said.

"Al Davis thought all owners were dilettantes with a new toy. He said to me many times through the years that owners are often the problem with their franchises, that too many of them think they can run things when they cannot, and the teams that succeed are the ones where the owner hires the best people he can and turns the game over to them."
