Dont forget Norv Turner and Carson Palmer are neighbors...
I hope we hire Norv . When I watched the press conference yesterday he was talking and joking with Pryor and other raider players in the locker room. Norv seems to know a lot about the raiders and Allen seems to really like Norv because when he was asked about him he said he has a good relationship with him and thinks he's a great coach and coach tarver will probably help influence Allen because tarver called Norv the nfl best offensive play caller.
i think this would be a good move for us and i think we stand a decent chance of getting him as OC unless someone offers him a HC position. for an OC position it would most convenient for him to stay in CA and in the division he knows best.
Yeah, I'd say I'm excited at the possibility of getting Turner as OC as well. Knows the division well and has coached some dominant Charger offenses as HC and will live next door to his probable QB.
And going into the visiting locker room after the game.....and making a point of patting Pryor on the back in front of the cameras....
Make it happen, Reggie Mac and Son of Al.
I gotta be honest...
I have been SHOCKED at the success Philip Rivers has had in the NFL. I was never sold on him coming out of college.
Norv maximized Rivers talents. I think he could do the same with Palmer.
Also....He is a quality QB coach....
Before Harbaugh...Norv was the only one that got something out of Alex Smith. He might be the kind of guy who can "fix" Pryor in a couple years. Idk.
But yea I'd love Palmer and Dmac in Norv's offense.
Someone with skills needs to do a photoshop to that line....
And Turner said in his post game presser he got his guys pumped up for the game telling them how physical the Raiders were and how much beating them meant to him (paraphrasing).
Better for the recent resume to sweep your future employer, I guess.
I would be down to having Norv back as a OC.
Damn, it sure would be nice to see some aggressive, creative play calling around here for once.
I, for one, am lukewarm to the idea. This man has lived off of his Cowboys glory days for a long time. As HC of the Raiders under Al Davis, he was essentially the OC. Granted, it was a tough job, but the O was horrendous. An upgrade over Knapp, but I would prefer to keep looking.
