No we got to keep him. Outside of Marcel Reese he's the only bright spot on the team. We'll dump other over priced dead weight players
What do yall think? I say trade him for some picks, save cap money and get that way we get some free agents as well that can make an immediate impact.
With Janikowski we settle for 3 points way too often. And if its a miss which is not often but when it is, the field position is ideal for the opponent. It was sort of like when the Saints had Morten Anderson.....they settled for field goals. One of the best thing for the Saints was when they dealt him away.
I mean last wk it was 15 points...all SeaBass FG's. That sucks. If we didnt have him we would have a totally different approach when we cross into the opponents territory.

What's up with all the dump the talent talk?! Jano is a keeper.

So Oakland should let Jano go because he scores fieldgoals? Mk.
I get what your driving at gator but I just can't bring myself to want to give up the old fall back plan, at least until we have something substantial to replace it with, like a half way decent red zone offense.
This kind of reminds me when Aso was one of our only "bright spots." I would have to say if we are rebuilding he is not untouchable. Aso should have not been franchised. Base salary of 3,800,000 and cap hit of 4,925,000. That's funny for a team that can not afford these luxuries. It's bad business really. But people love him, so you know. Big money for a kicker and punter, no matter how bad we can not score TDs is bad business for a professional football team when depth is a problem, and lack of play-makers. We can find a kicker that can hit from 50 yards. Do you guys remember how bad Seabass use to be, lol??? Nobody will be that hard to break in.
Bye Seabass
Thank god we don't have a QB who throws touchdowns! If we did, I'd say get rid of him ASAP!
Trade him?
Kickers have zero trade value, they are 10 a penny. Just get RM to work on a sensible contract.
Was he preventing us from scoring TDs last year? Stop the nonsense this offense sucks because of pathetic coaching and would use talent upgrades at some positions, not because in their minds they can settle for FGs.... Heck they have a hard time generating 3 first downs in a row to even get in position! Our so called star RB cant ge through the LOS to save his life and we cant keep him clear of multiple defenders on sweeps he have been running well for like 5 years!!
Seabass is great and we will all miss him when he'll be gone.
Bad post....
Kickers may not have a resale value but Jano does. He's the best. We need other improvements and need to stop relying on field goals. If the offense didnt know they had a sure thing in the field goal then I assure you the play calling would be different. They have to stretch the field rather than inch close enough for 3 points! It's common sense.
Im in New Orleans, I talked about this with former QB for the Saints Bobby Hebert and he said he felt the play calling with Morton Anderson playing was similar in that he wanted more points and to stretch the field....BUT...because they had Morton Anderson they played conservatively to get the 3.
gator
That's how bad the Raiders are.
They made fans thinking to trade a K.
Sad story.
