Do any cap experts know how much money we saved by cutting him? I think when he signed there was no bonus or guaranteed, I could be wrong. Anyway good move and am hoping chekwa or some other youngster gets a chance.

He was a vested veteran on a one-year deal, so there's no cap room or money saved. It's about getting the roster spot back and letting Bartell catch on with another team (as if one would want him, based on his play this year).

I think he was pretty much the same and we signed a player that really just wasn't very good.

This doesn't exactly hurt my feelings, but was he really worse at corner than Giordano and Mitchell are at safety?

Cutting one of those guys and moving Huff back would, in my opinion help the team more.

Hopefully Chimdi will get called up now, I'd like to see some production from him. He definitely has some potential.

So our starting corner at the beginning of the season is cut before the season is over? Not a great reflection of the personnel department.

Most of these guys are god awful. The only ones that should have a pass are the rookies and maybe the players with 1 or 2 years in the league

Bartell was garbage. He was getting eaten alive from that first game with SD. I'm glad he's gone

I think, based on production, having Pat Lee and Phillip Adams at corner with Huff replacing Giordano is better than what we have out there, but I'm not an NFL GM and apparently having Curry active for a game was worth losing Pat Lee on a team ridiculously depleted at CB.

Also, Chekwa is really so much worse than these guys that we shouldn't even see what he has? Really...?
