Reggie fired the guy who said he expected to have a hand in the hiring of his boss. I'd love that opportunity but I'd never in my life say that to my employer.

Reggie picked a coach and let him hire his staff much like all other organization. Did he make a bad choice only time will tell but the Raiders have to earn the credibility of a place where good coaches will want to come period.

Simply fix the problem as in being 20 million over the cap. No matter who or what Routt and Wimbley were gone and we'd still have a patched together D that is awful. There was no simple fix now if we were 10 million under the cap simply fixing the problem would be justified.

Until the Raiders get the cap under control and build stability no good players or coaches will want to come to Oakland. There will never be great FA signings without grossly over paying or a Jeff Fisher coming here until its established the organization has changed. That was a dumb move but I think it was Knapp's dumbass that suggested it. He will never see talent. Thats why we have a overpaid stiff in RG...From this offseason and onwards it's nobody's fault but Reggie's though. That's my opinion.

You are correct in Jackson was the best coach since Gruden. Al Davis started coaching in the 1950's when you game planned using the talent thats on your team. Them days are done. Jackson was able to look at his roster and get 100% out of it and he was damn close to making a good team. Without roster depth and a modern NFL base philosphy Hue Jacksons 8-8 was about the best you could expect coming into a season and if the injury bug didn't get you maybe a few 10-6 or 11-5 seasons. You will see some of the "game planning to use players strengths" in a few years but a base foundation system needs to set in 2012-13.

I actually think a lot of Raiders fans don't understand the cap issues. I think a lot of people are used to Al signing whoever he wanted and restructuring money to future years in order to over pay FAs. Who's paying Wang? He was brought in as a camp body and waived the Bills are still paying him like 99k but that's all I've seen.
